Anyone following the salaried school direct route into teaching will be contracted by the school for a full academic year.

You will normally be paid point 1 on the unqualified teachers salary although this can be negotiated for those subjects that attract a bursary. However, please bear in mind that even this enhanced salary will quite likely be less income than following a non-salaried route with your own bursary and access to the student loan.

The school will pay your full Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) training fees but not any upgrade to the full Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

You will not be entitled to access any other student scholarship, bursary or loan when following a salaried route.
