MANY MVTP SCHOOLS ARE STILL RELUCTANT TO ACCEPT VISITORS DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC BUT THE SITUATION IS GRADUALLY IMPROVING.
I am sure that you will understand that, for the safety of staff and students during the current COVID crisis, many schools are not accepting any visitors to their schools. However, some schools are, most notably THE THOMAS AVELING and ROBERT NAPIER schools. Both of these schools have published school experience dates listed on the government “get school experience” website. Other schools are working on a more ad hoc basis and accepting individual applications for experience days either by you writing to the school directly (you may have to send a few chasing emails) or by using the MVTP register training interest page
As more schools open their doors to visitors, we will publish a list of open schools with dates and times for visits.
PLEASE NOTE: Under these circumstances, we do not expect applicants to have had any school experience prior to receipt of a teacher training application.
ADVICE: There are plenty of on-line teaching videos that you can search for. Please have a look at lessons in your subject area so you can evaluate the reasons behind the success or otherwise of those lessons. This can certainly help during the interview process.
